Uche African Art Foundation (UAAF)

This a non-profit organization that aims at linking young artists in Nigeria and buyers in the Netherlands to offer these young artists a better chance for using and keeping their talents. The Foundation has influential persons directly or indirectly involved with art in Africa and The Netherlands. They help to constitute the foundation and bring their influence and network to bear to support the ambitions of the foundation. Young African painters make some fantastic work, many talented people however do not get the exposure or possibilities they need to be able to exhibit and sell their work (products) to an audience that is willing and able to buy and invest in their art. This means they need to abandon their life as an artist (artists) needlessly and chose another vocation; often, they end up selling goods on the streets.

UAAFlogo
“Uche”, an Igbo word denoting “Will”, “wish” or “mind”, has in mind to fulfill wishes, offering a platform for these young aspiring artists, helping them to fulfill their aspirations and helping them to exploit their talents.
The purpose of the foundation is to link these artists to buyers and interested organizations in the Netherlands and Europe to provide a platform, support and a market for their products.

This international co-operation will improve the understanding and co-inspiration of these artists, Dutch and European society.

Purpose

Our mission is to encourage and support young motivated artists by offering a platform for the presentation of contemporary art, and to develop a critical forum for the promotion of contemporary art in Nigeria and across the world. Through this, we aspire to develop and expand as we network with artists and art organizations on local, regional, and international levels through collaborations.

Our vision is to create an active network of young artists, offer a platform for presentation of contemporary art and to develop a critical forum for the promotion of contemporary art in Nigeria.

The mission of Uche African Art Foundation is to create a unique environment in which young talented and motivated artists use their abilities, experience, and can feel free to imagine, create, and welcome the arts into their lives. Uche African Art Foundation intends to capture these young talents and provide a professional work environment that is challenging, rewarding, creative, and respectful of ideas and individuals.
